Ramin Rak is a board-certified neurosurgeon with over twenty years of experience performing complex brain and spine surgeries. Ramin Rak is currently affiliated with Neurological Surgery, P.C., which is New York's largest private neurosurgical group. This affiliation means that he performs neurosurgical and micro-neurosurgical procedures at the eleven different medical facilities that are affiliated with Neurological Surgery, P.C. Ramin Rak is also one of the medical community's leading experts in micro-neurosurgical techniques, and has been invited to present his techniques at nearly 20 medical conferences and in dozens of professional medical journals. He has also been asked to share his method for completing awake craniotomies at medical facilities across the country while he has helped establish awake craniotomies programs at many Long Island medical facilities.

Ramin Rak began his neurosurgical career by earning his undergraduate degree in Medical Basic Sciences and then his medical degree from the Free University of Brussels. Ramin Rak gained hands-on training in the Washington Hospital Center’s Department of Surgery by completing an externship followed by an internship. After that, he was a Neurosurgery Fellow in Bethesda, Maryland and within George Washington University’s Department of Neurosugery. Thanks to these experiences, Ramin Rak then became the Chief Neurosurgery Fellow at North Shore-LIJ before transitioning to Chief Neurosurgery Resident at the University of New Mexico-Albuquerque’s Department of Neurosurgery. While at the University of New Mexico-Albuquerque, Ramin Rak also taught courses on neurosurgery, which prepared him for his many professional speaking engagements.

Today Ramin Rak continues to perform complex brain and spinal procedures using micro-neurosurgical techniques. He also maintains membership in the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
